Meet Our Director
Hello! Thank you for your interest in Beginnings Preschool at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church! As the incoming director and a long-time St. Andrew’s member, I’m excited at the prospect of developing a safe, nurturing learning environment for the young children of this church and the surrounding community. Through my work with young children and families, I have gained a great deal of insight into what is involved in being an effective teacher, maintaining productive classroom communities, and building a strong program.
The space that will house our preschool program will undergo some upgrades over the next several months. It will be gratifying to see those changes happening, and to prepare the classrooms with high-quality, developmentally appropriate, purposeful materials for our young students. When choosing adults to act as guides in those classroom, I am committed to finding the most qualified staff – those with a strong work ethic, a desire to serve children and families, and experience in guiding young children, both academically and spiritually. The process of finding appropriate academic and spiritual curriculum materials is still underway. I am giving careful consideration in determining the best materials to meet our goals of academic, spiritual, emotional, and physical preparation of our students.
But beautiful rooms, dedicated teachers, and great curriculum aren’t all that is needed to make a quality preschool program. In order to serve your child best, we need the involvement of parents and families. A strong school-family connection is absolutely essential in maintaining a solid learning foundation for each child in our program.
As you prepare to make the decision about which early childhood environment is best for your child, we invite you to consider Beginnings Preschool at St. Andrew’s UMC. We would consider it a privilege to partner with you in giving your child a great beginning as they, “Learn, Laugh, and Love God!”
