 | The United Methodist religion has a history of connecting people with each other, and with God, for centuries. We keep that tradition going at St. Andrew’s. For us, it all started with a few people in 1991. Today, we’re 1,450 members strong. Won't you join us?
John Wesley and the early Methodists were concerned about inviting people to experience God’s grace and to grow in their knowledge and love of God through disciplined Christian living. That meant putting their faith and love into action, which continues to be a trademark of United Methodism today. Learn more about our rich theological heritage.
At St. Andrew’s, we share the gospel of Jesus Christ through six signs of vital discipleship:
1) Radical Hospitality 2) Passionate, Heart-Warming Worship 3) Risk-Taking Mission and Service 4) Intentional Faith Formation 5) Gracious Generosity 6) Connectional Joy
The Methodist branch of protestant religion traces its roots back to 1739 and John Wesley’s teachings in England. Then, on April 23, 1968, The United Methodist Church was created when a The Evangelical United Brethren Church and The Methodist Church joined forces at General Conference in Dallas, Texas.
Over two decades later, in November of 1991, a small group of people met in a West Omaha home to talk about forming a new United Methodist congregation. A month later, 240 people attended the first St. Andrew’s Christmas Eve service at Millard North High School. Today, we're 1,450 members and growing. | |
