A Role To Play - Sermon Series

Every Sunday, from 09/20/2026 to 11/16/2026, 12:00 AM

What role does the church have to play in today’s world?
How is Jesus inviting us to live now in ways that reflect the world God is bringing into being?

In A Role to Play, we’ll look closely at Jesus’ teaching in the Gospel of Matthew about the kingdom of heaven and the part the church is called to play in making that “now and not yet” kingdom visible. Jesus gives us this invitation through stories, practices, and warnings that teach us how to recognize God’s reign and how to live as part of it.

Over three movements, we’ll learn our lines, rehearse the life of the kingdom together, and then carry that life beyond the walls of the church. It will challenge us to be more than just members of the audience, to step onto the stage, join the story, and work to live as a community that offers the world a glimpse of what God is bringing into being.

The kingdom is God’s work, but we are not merely spectators. We all have a role to play.
